End of Summer

Well, the boys start school tomorrow so I guess that is it for summer. The last few weeks haven't been very nice weather-wise so hopefully we get some nice warm days before the end of Sept.

Things have been very busy around here lately. Work is sort of sucking so I am contemplating a change of employers. It's just not "fun" anymore. It will be hard to get something that I want that pays the same but I am fine with taking a slight pay cut to reduce my stress levels.

Tackle football is officially underway for the season. The boys both played exhibition games last weekend and on Thursday they both played at the Big Kahuna Bowl (kick off for high school football). They really liked watching the big boys play football and were amazed by how big the older guys are...some of them shocked the parents as well....lol.

Grad went well for the most part. Lots of great pics of Courtney in her dress but not many of her cap and gown...she didn't like it anyway...lol. One of her friends has some pics so I am hoping she will send them to me soon. We also took a few family pics and they didn't turn out as good as I had hoped but they are better than nothing. Right now Courtney is in Pilot Butte working for a couple of months. She came out here for a couple of weeks after Grad and then went back. She wants to be back here by the end of October but we'll see what happens.

We also had breakfast with Randi when we were passing through Calgary on our way home. It was nice to see her but a little awkward as well because we haven't really talked to her in a long time...just the odd email or MSN message. I hope she takes a trip out here to visit us and get to know the boys and Dad again.

I haven't been scrapbooking much lately either but that is going to change. I need my time to myself and do my thing....and of course that is one of my things...lol. I went to Julie's a couple of weeks ago and it was great to get together with a friend again and relax. I was working on a mini album for our vacation pics and want to get back at it to finish it soon. We also talked about starting to go to the monthly CC crops in Lake Country again so that would be nice if that works out. She needs to get away from the kids and I need to get away from kids and work. I am hoping SS will get going with regular crops again so that I can go out there too.

Anyway that's the update for now...chow!

PS...you can see pics on FACEBOOK! Come and look for me ;)

Work, work, work

OK....this blog thing is more work than I thought it would be....and now they have me talked into using Facebook.....ugh....it never ends! Oh well, gotta go with the flow I guess ;)

So, what has been going on since the last post....well, just more of the same actually...lol. I lead such and exciting life don't I.

I managed to make it out to Scrapbooking Swede for the NSBD crop (National Scrapbook Day for all you non-scrappers out there). I was impressed that I completed quite a few layouts....yah for me! We got an awesome goodie bag too....but the best part was spending time with Angelique and not being at work or home....needed some ME time in a big way :)

The first three layouts are pics I took of Courtney last summer after we bought her Grad dress...less than a month until the big day! The last layout is Patrick and Eric in the backyard during a tacke football practice.

Getting ready for Spring

The snow is all melted and any that *may* come won't last long and the tulips and lilies are already poking through the dead stuff from last year. I am really in the mood for Spring! Changing my blog template to green is my first step towards getting ready for a new season and lots of colour instead of just boring brown...and hey, it's March so GREEN is in. I am feeling the urge to do some Spring cleaning but so far I have managed to control it for now and just veg while I can....LOL. I even told Kip that I wanted to join a gym!!! Spring must be in the air....that or I have finally lost my marbles! HaHa :)

I have been going through some pics on my computer the last couple of weeks and it is funny that there are some pics of the boys that we have to do a double-take to figure out which one it was...they look so much alike! I really have to get them all saved on to discs and start printing them to scrapbook and share with family. I am also working on couple of special projects so I need to get pics printed for that as well.

Anyways, time to get some housecleaning done. Stop laughing....I really am going to do some cleaning!

Spring is around the corner

Wow....March 1st already. January and February sure did fly by fast! Spring is just around the corner although I don't mind a little visit from winter still. We got a little bit of snow last night and are supposed to get some more today. Right now the sun is shining so I love it! I just might pop outside for a bit and enjoy it...okay...long enough to get into the car and drive to the store...lol. It has been quite chilly the last few days even though we have seen more sun. I have even had to scrape the windows in the car before work in the morning....haven't had to do that for a few weeks.

Anyway, welcome March!

The biggest thing right now is that I have worked at SDM downtown for almost a year! Man, that went fast! March 17th, 2006 was my very first day and I really do enjoy it....much different than the old store I worked at and I hope to be there for a long time yet. Baring any unforseen lotto wins, DH deciding to move again, etc ;) I was nervous about taking the step up into management but I think I am holding my own very well. I have gotten a raise and I am still there....knocking on wood....lol.

March 18th, 1989. Great day! Which means that my baby Courtney will be 18 this year...OMG! She's all grown up. Well, when she graduates in June I *might* actually believe that she is all grown up and let her be a grown up. I have missed her so much the last few years that she has been away for school. I can't wait to have her here in Kelowna with me so we can talk everyday and be best friends again. The boys are excited about it too!

March 17th, 1993. St Patricks's Day. Kip and I had our very first date....he took me to the bar for green beer...lol. There wasn't much else to do in Assiniboia so that was just fine...and gave me an easy out if the date wasn't going well. Obviously it went well because we are still together.

March 28, 1997. The BIG DAY!! It will be our 10th wedding anniversary this month...WOW! It doesn't seem like that long ago we were planning our lives together and trying to imagine where we would be in 10 years...it seemed like such a long time in the future. A lot of stuff has happened in those 10 years....2 more kids, lots of moves to different houses, cities, etc....lots of highs and lows but always love. I can't wait to see what the next 10 years will bring....hopefully health and tons more love....maybe even grandkids...lol.

I will upload some pics and layouts later this month....chow :)

I'm a bad blogger :(

I haven't updated my blog in a while, sorry :( Man, January just blew by didn't it? Wow, February already. I only scrapped two layouts in January and that was on the 29th and 30th. I bought a bunch of goodies at the Scrapbooking Swede 1st Anniversary (storefront) Sale today so that should get me in the mood to scrap again...lol.

I finally got all of the Christmas decorations put away as well. Yes, I know....quite rolling your eyes and close your mouth! LOL I stashed everything in the corner of my craft room and in the front of the storage room so today I put it all away where it belongs. The only thing left is the blow-up lawn decoration but it is covered in snow. Thank goodness I don't have to worry about any decorating until Easter...and that is very minimal ;)

So, I will upload some pics of my scrap projects next week.
